The growing momentum of Internet sites for on-line shopping is facing a very strong increase of payment fraud.
Current solutions are mainly based on smart cards using passwords which by no means guarantee the identity of the buyer. In addition, these solutions are lacking ergonomy, they require the user to provide all his/her personal details at each transaction.
In order to reinforce the security of payment transactions and to reduce the cost of support to users, Onlymee® offers a unique, simple, ergonomic, secure and confidential authentication solution.
On-line payment: e-commerce, m-commerce applications.
- While shopping on-line on a commercial website and when the cart is displayed on the PC, the user can select payment using Onlymee® instead of traditional on-line means of payment. The user identifies himself by entering his/her biometric fingerprint from his/her personal Onlymee® terminal. This single capture initiates communication exchanges using the ICD protocol, between the PC and the Onlymee® server, which authorizes payment/Direct debit then handles transactions with the servers of the banks involved in the payment.
- As all user’s details (name, delivery address, bank account, …) are stored in the Onlymee® server, only his/her fingerprint is necessary to confirm payment of the online purchase.
In Shop payment: Retail application
- In the store equipped with an Onlymee® relay (installed physically or virtually in a corner of the store, or on the cash register), when it is time to pay for purchases, the user identifies himself by entering his/her biometric fingerprint from his/her personal Onlymee® terminal. This single capture initiates communication exchanges using the ICD protocol, between the Onlymee® relay and the Onlymee® server. The Onlymee® server authorizes payment/Direct debit then handles transactions with the servers of the banks involved in the payment.
- As all user’s details (name, delivery address, bank account, …) are stored in the Onlymee® server, only his/her fingerprint is necessary to confirm payment of the purchase.
